Yearsail is built on a simple idea: your photos and memories belong to you and should stay with you. This policy explains what the Yearsail app and the yearsail.com website do with your information. In short, the app keeps everything on your own computer, and the website only collects your email address if you ask us to notify you.

The Yearsail app

• Your photos stay on your computer. Yearsail reads the folders and drives you choose. It does not upload your photos, their thumbnails, their dates or locations, or anything you write about them to us or to anyone else.
• Read only. Yearsail never edits, moves or deletes your original files. It keeps its own catalog, small previews and your notes in a library folder on your computer.
• No account, no tracking. The app does not require an account and does not include advertising or analytics trackers.
• People and faces. When features that recognize faces are available, that analysis runs on your computer, and the results stay in your library there.
• You are in control. You can delete Yearsail's library folder at any time. That removes Yearsail's catalog, previews and notes, and never touches your original photos.

If a future version adds anything that sends information off your computer, such as checking for updates or optional backup, we will update this policy first and the app will explain it before it happens.

The yearsail.com website

• Launch notifications. If you enter your email address to be notified, we store that address, the date you signed up and the country your request came from. We use it only to tell you about Yearsail, such as when it is ready to download. We do not sell, rent or share it with advertisers.
• No cookies or trackers. The website does not set cookies and does not use advertising or analytics trackers.
• Hosting. The website runs on Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. Sign-up emails are stored in our Cloudflare account. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• Email. Messages you send to support@yearsail.com are delivered to our inbox and used only to answer you.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us at any time to show you, correct or delete the email address we hold, or to stop sending you messages. Every email we send will also include a way to unsubscribe. Write to support@yearsail.com and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, including California, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honor them.

How long we keep information

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until we no longer need it to tell you about Yearsail.

Children

Yearsail is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us their email address, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date above. If a change is significant, we will tell people who signed up for notifications.
